Edward Hopper and the American Hotel

Emelie is pleased to have provided the narration for the premiere of Edward Hopper and the American Hotel at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.  This is the first in-depth study of hospitality settings depicted in the works of one of the most celebrated American artists.  Catch this exciting new exhibit from October 26, 2019 - February 23, 2020.

Candida

Emelie is thrilled to return to Washington Stage Guild to play the title role in their production of Candida, where she is very pleased to be working opposite her real-life husband, actor Nathan Whitmer.  Performances run September 26 - October 20.

Signature Theatre's Open House

Devotion Workshop

Emelie will be playing Pastor Foster in a workshop of the new musical Devotion by Mark Sonnenblick, as part of a collaboration between Signature Theatre and Yale University.  The workshop will present on August 17 and 23.

Emelie is an AEA actor and singer based in the DC area. Her contracts have taken her Off-Broadway, on national tours, and to regional theatres across the country. In 2012, she was a recipient of the Roger Sturtevant EMC Musical Theatre Award. In addition to stage, Emelie has filmed

industrials and freelanced as a voice actor. Formerly, she was based in New York City and southern California.

Emelie is married to fellow actor, Nathan Whitmer.  The two of them live with their young daughter, Violet, and black cat, Walter Mitty.
